Elpitha Tsoutsounakis is a Cretan-American designer, printer, and educator working at the western edge of the Colorado Plateau. She completed a B.S. of Architecture at the University of Utah and an M.Arch at the University of Texas at Austin. She is an assistant professor and founding faculty in the Division of Multi-disciplinary Design at the University of Utah where she teaches design studios, research methods, and visual strategy. Her scholarship combines community-based design research in public lands and rural places through the Field Studio, and creative practice with Ochres and more-than-human entanglements through the design research collective, Field Studio Geontological Survey (FSGS). Her current exhibition, Geontological Survey of the Big Field, is on at the Chase Home Utah State Folk Art Museum.
